Kampung Tulung-Mantob is in the Kiulu district of Sabah, Malaysia, which is on the island of Borneo. It's about a one-hour drive from the state capital, Kota Kinabalu, along a winding road that rises up a picturesque and verdent valley nestled beneath the mighty Mount Kinabalu. It is home to the Mitabang Homestay of the Dusun people. Mitabang "means helping each other" and this is practiced by the community when entertaining guests in their homestay. The area is also a centre for river rafting on the nearby Kiulu river, which is unpolluted and is graded at level 2 for rafting (level 1 is the easiest, 5 is the hardest). |
